Historic Recognition

OTR Chamber of Commerce approached the State of Ohio and secured historic recognition for the Kroger Store on Vine Street, to honor its commitment and long standing business in Over-the-Rhine. It was awarded an official Historic Maker in celebration of the state’s bicentennial 2003. Ohio Historical Markers note people, places and landmarks that have had significant impact in our state's history

Findlay Market Renovation

One hundred and fifty two years after Findlay market originally opened it’s doors for business, it celebrated a $17 million renovation and reopening in 2004. The OTR Chamber was vocal and active in the city involvement and expansion of the business opportunities available at the market.

Gateway Project

The OTR Chamber was instrumental in seeing that this mixed use project meet the parking and residential needs of the neighborhood. It required numerous meetings, and persistent lobbying to have the garage enlarged and the housing redesigned to accommodate the live/work spaces necessary for entrepreneurs and artists. This is the first infill residential development in the city in 40 years an will become a mixed-use residential/retail gateway into Over-the-Rhine.
