Over-the-Rhine Landmarks

  • Findlay market - The second oldest continuously operating open air market in the United States. Founded in 1852, it provides fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, cheeses and breads, and many hard-to-find ethnic foods to local residents and people from all over the region.
  • Pendleton Art Center - Features the largest collection of artists (over 80) with studios anywhere in the United States. It is a catalyst for development in the Pendleton District.
  • Old St. Mary’s Church - Held its first service in 1842 and represents the area’s heritage of Catholic East European immigrants. Masses are conducted in German and Latin, as well as English.
  • Magnificent architectural buildings that continue to adapt uses to serve the evolving, needs of the repopulating neighborhood include, the Emery Center, the American Building and the KD Lamp Building.
  • Landmark institutions that attract thousands of people into the community include The School for Creative and Performing Arts, the Art Academy of Cincinnati, Memorial Hall, Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati, Music Hall, Findlay Market, OTR Tour of Living, and Mid Point Music Festival.
