2010 Annual Meeting RecapAn
enthusiastic crowd of over 300 people attended the 2010 Over-the-Rhine
Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting on Tuesday, April 27th. The audience
included several business, civic and government leaders, along with many
other Over-the-Rhine supporters. Held in Music Hall’s Ballroom, this
year's program recognized the great progress achieved in Over-the-Rhine
in 2009. The meeting honored and recognized Star Awards recipients. Once
a year, Star Awards are received by outstanding individuals,
organizations and businesses to recognize the positive impact they have
made in Over-the-Rhine and Greater Cincinnati over the past year. Serving
as master of ceremonies was the Over-the-Rhine Chamber President Brian
Tiffany who brought personality to this year's stage. Stephen G. Leeper,
President & CEO, Cincinnati Center City Development Corporation
(3CDC) served as this year's Keynote speaker. Mr. Leeper talked about
Over-the-Rhine and the exciting development that 3CDC is proud to
support in Over-the-Rhine like the redevelopment of the Washington Park
Area. A big thank you goes out to the
individual volunteers and the Annual Meeting event committee that helped
make the 2010 Annual Meeting a great success. The Over-the-Rhine Chamber of Commerce announces the recipients of the Annual Star Awards Annual
Star Awards recognize those organizations and/or individuals that have
contributed to the revitalization of our grand historic neighborhood and
for their outstanding accomplishments, and dedication to the
Over-the-Rhine Community. This year’s awards include: - Chairman’s Award – Louise Dieterle Nippert
- President’s Award – Norma Petersen
- Business of the Year – Corporation for Findlay Market
- Entrepreneur of the Year – Jenny White, BOOST…for meetings sake!
- Not-for-Profit Organization of the Year – Freestore Foodbank
- Individual Contribution – Terry Lee, Outside
- Property Development of the Year – City Home Cincinnati , Eber Development, Schickel Design, OTR Community Housing and 3CDC
- Architect of the Year Award – Michael A. Uhlenhake, Architect
- Arts Organization – Cincinnati Opera
- Special Recognition - Officer Tim Eppstein, Cincinnati Police
- Special Recognition – Venus Kent , Cincinnati Convention and Visitors Bureau
Award
Recipients will be honored at the Over-the-Rhine Chamber’s Annual
Meeting and Star Awards Luncheon on Tuesday April 27th at Music Hall,
with Special Guest Speaker, .Stephen G. Leeper, President & CEO,
Cincinnati Center City Development Corporation (3CDC).
